Join one of the largest resellers of Enterprise Open-Source technologies in Africa to corporations across South Africa and Africa. The purpose of this role is to generate new business opportunities for the company by identifying, contacting, and qualifying potential customers. This person will be the first contact for any new leads that come into the organisation.

Obsidian requires an experienced solution-sales new business development manager to drive, follow up and execute on the sales process for all new business.

Entry requirements:

  • Must have a valid SA ID
  • Excellent with clients and building confidence.
  • Demonstrated ability in business-to-business (B2B) sales
  • Experience in communicating with C-Level executives
  • Matric Certificate

Vendor specific certifications will be beneficial but can be obtained on-the-job

Key Accountabilities:

  • Identify and research potential clients
  • Arrange business meetings with prospective clients
  • Promote the company’s products/services addressing or predicting clients’ objectives
  • Representing the company values
  • Give/ co-ordinate the relevant people to perform presentations to prospective clients
  • Coordinate with sales teams to develop mutually beneficial proposals
  • Track and clearly communicate the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to internal stakeholders and management teams
  • Drive the end-to-end sales process
  • Achieve and exceed monthly sales target
  • Sales focus with upselling, cross-selling, and new sales within a new client base as well as existing customers (where applicable only)
  • Maintain a high-level, broad understanding of current IT industry trends.
  • Continuous learning on products.
  • Respond to all sales requests timeously
  • Drive all identified sales campaigns

Daily Responsibilities:

Sales Admin

  • Ensure that the sales leads pipeline is managed to align with the business goals and business model
  • Ensure CRM is up to date and all admin processes are adhered to
  • Work collaboratively with the relevant product specialist and technical team(s) in order to provide clients with pre-sales, costing, scoping etc.

Inter-departmental management

  • Build and maintain relationships with:
    • Vendor Managers
    • Technical Team Leads
    • Technical Consultants
    • Project Management Office

Location: Must reside in South Africa or be willing to travel locally.
